We have been getting a few questions about the events, so here’s a bit more info:
Frequently Asked Questions:
- What’s this day about? What will I learn?
The focus of this session is leadership skill development. We want everyone to see themselves as a leader, regardless of where they are in their career. You will come away with practical tools you can put into practice right away!
- Is this session for me?
YES! Tradeswomen at all career stages are welcome to attend. Come and join the day, make some new connections and have some fun while learning some great tools.
- I have to give up a days pay to attend. Is there any support for me?
YES! We are offering a $200 honorarium for any tradeswomen who must give up a days wages to attend.
Parking, meals and session materials are all provided at no cost for everyone, separate to the honorarium.
- What should I bring and what is the dress code?
You only need to bring yourself. We will supply all materials that you will need.
There is no dress code. Come as you are – jeans, hoodies and t-shirts welcome.
Our fall events (same event: two different cities) are planned for October 3rd at NAIT in Edmonton, AB and again on November 30th at BCIT in Burnaby, BC.
We still need event sponsors!
- Financial barriers exist for some tradeswomen to access professional development.
- Sponsor funds enable us to offer honoraria to tradeswomen who have to lose wages in order to attend.
- Contact Toby Michaud at toby@linksides.ca to help sponsor an event to show support for women in the skilled trades.
