From Difficult to Effective Conversations

Initiating and managing a difficult conversation is a crucial management skill. Most of us would cringe, avoid, delay, procrastinate, anything to make it go away. Having a difficult conversation is never easy, but it can be thoughtful, respectful and even productive.

This session is focused on understanding a variety of approaches to difficult conversations, including how your habits when it comes to conflict impact how you have difficult conversations. This 90-minute Online Skill Builder will be led by a professional WinSETT facilitator and include discussion, self-reflection and experience-based learning.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore examples of difficult conversations in SETT
  • Use a simple framework to prepare for and navigate difficult conversations
  • Identify strategies to move from difficult to effective conversations
  • Explore gendered and online aspects of difficult conversations
